QUICK BIO:
Born in Taunton, MA (left at 7); Raised in South Florida (Palm Beach); From age 18-33 lived in Ft. Lauderdale; now reside in Greenville, SC
God saved me in August of 1989; First 3 years as a believer I spent in a hyper-Charismatic Church; In 1992 God granted me discernment and lead me to Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale; I had a 5 year desert experience; God yanked me back, put it in my heart to go into ministry; Finished a course in Systematic Theology at CCBI Ft. Lauderdale in April of 2008.
I’m now with East North Street Baptist in Greenville, SC; I’m Charismatic with a seatbelt; 35, single and accepting applications. :)
INTERESTS:
THEOLOGY: I’ve really come to love theology over the past 18 months. In my growing library I gain insight from J.I. Packer, Wayne Grudem, R.C. Spraul, John Piper, John MacArthur, Chuck Smith, Robert Lightner, Elmer Towns, Ron Rhodes, Norman Geisler, Arnold G. Fruchtenbaum, Mark Driscoll, Tim Keller and others. Though not all of these men are not known as theologians, each person has helped shape my doctrinal positions into what I believe to be well balanced.
APOLOGETICS: God instilled this interest in me well before I knew what “apologetics” was – it saved me from the over-experiential “charismania” my first three years as a believer were engulfed in. Apologists I admire include: Ron Rhodes, Ravi Zacharias, Walter Martin, Richard Abanese, Roger Oakland, Lee Strobel, Tim Challies - among others.
LEARNING: I need to thank some wonderful pastors and authors for greatly blessing my life: Pastor Bob Coy (my pastor for 14 years), Pastor Geoff Buck (who welcomed me into CCBI Ft. Lauderdale from 700+ miles away. He is now with CC Monterey Bay, CA), Pastor Rit Varriale, Sr. (CC Greenville, SC – my pastor for over a year from who I derived my love for theology from) and Pastor Steve Stroup (East North Street Baptist; Greenville, SC – my current pastor, who in such a short amount of time welcomed me in and opened the door for me to be a part of the churches ministry. I look foreward to all that God is going to do though and in ENSB).
MUSIC: A great passion of mine since I was about 6 years old. From old-school Thrash Metal to heady Progressive Rock to Jazz/Fusion – I give praise to God for the gift of music in all it’s variety and forms.
